GENERAL FUNCTION:
Directs a significant portion of the individual or trust account business activities, including direct management of client assets and supervision of Portfolio Managers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages a team that develops satisfied clients and new sources of asset management revenue through frequent contact. Personally handles those portfolios/relationships of some of the largest and most complex client accounts.
Sets goals and expectations for and supervises the work of all levels of Portfolio Manager.
Consult with major client relationships to develop investment objectives and implement a suitable investment plan, maintaining an Investment Policy Statement for each relationship.
Ensures that Portfolio Managers are fulfilling their role of providing investment management, client service and sales support and are acting within established guidelines.
Work with management to develop business strategies, policies and procedures.
Maintain awareness of new investment strategies, trends, techniques and products through regular contact with other industry professionals and bring raise new ideas to management.
Keep current on the legal and tax issues with respect to investment decisions by consulting attorneys, accountants and other resources as needed.
Ensure that all established investment policies and procedures are adhered to. Be aware of any changes in the areas of risk management and compliance that would result in a necessary change in policy.
