The Tax Analyst will also maintain the firm's Global Tax Calendar. Responsibilities: Prepare and file miscellaneous tax returns including business, property, excise and multi-state use tax returns. Prepare all year-end tax schedules for the Firm’s external accountants and auditors. Prepare all necessary schedules needed for the preparation of partners’ K-1s. Prepare quarterly taxable income calculations for partners. Respond to audits and notices by taxing agencies. Prepare the budget for accounts including tax and professional tax services. Participate in the development of the Firm's partner portal web page. Perform miscellaneous other projects. Skill Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sr. State Tax Analyst
Job Description:
Reviews and prepares state income and franchise tax returns for all states where the Company is required to file returns, including the preparation of all documentation required to ensure accurate and timely filing and provide adequate audit trails.
Reviews quarterly state income tax estimated payments and annual extension requests.
Assists in the preparation and review of state income tax apportionment information, including the analysis of miscellaneous income, expense and balance sheet items that may impact the allocation of taxable income to states.
Reviews state income tax provision and accrual accounts reconciliation.
Monitors state tax developments and informs management of issues and events that may impact the Company.
Ensures changes for inter-company sales and services fall within acceptable arm's-length standards.
Researches and responds to inquiries and correspondence from state or local tax authorities.
Researches and analyzes the state income tax ramifications of a transaction. Quantifies the risks with taking a particular return position and making sure the Company is adequately reserved in case the position is challenged by a state taxing authority.
Directs state income tax audits; determines risks and calculates exposure, informs management of results and makes recommendations.
Prepares tax research memoranda, describing the state tax consequences of complex transactions.
Responsible for maintenance and coordination of state tax credits and incentives.

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA, Masters in Tax and/or MBA preferred.
Three to four years corporate or public tax experience preferred, with working knowledge of state and federal income tax concepts required.
Strong working and conceptual knowledge of multi-state corporate income tax principles, including apportionment and allocation rules, and separate and combined reporting issues. Knowledge of corporate state income tax treatment of partnerships and LLCs. Working knowledge of FAS 109.
