Job Description Summary
With direct supervision, prepares and analyzes tax records, reports and tax return filings (federal, state or local).Job Description
Responsibilities:
Prepares local, state, and federal tax returns.
Prepares, maintains, and analyzes tax records and reports, subject to review.
Researches basic tax issues and documents findings.
Uses computer systems and/or reporting tools to input, retrieve, or summarize tax information.
May rotate between different tax specialty groups within the tax department.
Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, performs assigned tasks.
Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
Confirms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction and all safety rules.
Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
Generally 0-2 years of professional experience in tax, accounting, or comparable area.
Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), on-line research software (RIA, Westlaw), and applicable tax and/or accounting software systems.
Fundamental knowledge of tax accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be detail-oriented.
Solid planning and organizational skills, including the ability to perform multiple assignments.
