Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and analytical Sr Manager, Finance Transformation, to join our Studio Finance Transformation Team. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives that integrate new technologies, foster innovation, optimize processes, and establish best practices within the Studio Group Finance function. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) or Controllership, coupled with exceptional project management skills. You will lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects focused on transforming finance functions, optimizing financial systems, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and execute finance transformation projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, on time, and on budget. Align project outcomes with the strategic goals of the finance organization
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner closely with finance leadership, FP&A, Controllership, and other business units to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with financial goals
  • Financial Expertise: Apply strong financial knowledge from FP&A or Controllership to shape project outcomes, including designing and implementing improved forecasting, reporting, and financial control processes
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring potential issues are addressed early
  • Analytical Excellence: Utilize strong analytical skills to dissect complex financial data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decision-making to improve project outcomes and finance processes
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage project budgets and resource allocation effectively, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and transformation goals
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess finance processes and systems, leading initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial transparency
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide clear, consistent updates on project status, financial performance, and risks to senior finance leadership and other stakeholders
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives related to the transformation, ensuring smooth transitions in finance systems and processes across the organization
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure timely delivery of project components and adherence to financial goals
  • Technical Expertise: Stay current on finance technology trends, tools, and best practices to advise leadership on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA preferred but not required.
    • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear and actionable business insights.
    • Competence in modern financial tools and techniques, including machine learning, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
    • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical skills in addition to strong attention to detail and solid critical thinking. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial reporting systems.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation projects, including system implementations, process re-engineering, and cross-functional financial initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive project success

Desired Characteristics:

    • Working knowledge of SAP ECC and S4 HANA/AoE/BPC/SAC/Power BI
    • Project Management certification - PMP (Project Management Professional), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Prince2, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification would be a plus.
    • Media/Entertainment experience

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
