JE Owens & Company, P.A., a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Orlando, FL, provides business and individual tax planning and preparation services, small business accounting services and compilation, review and audit services for clients in Florida and throughout the southeast United States.

Due to continued growth, we're currently seeking a dynamic, driven, self-motivated team player with 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience to manage complex tax and accounting engagements for high-quality clients.  Working directly with clients and all levels of staff, you will prepare federal and state tax returns, including fiduciary returns, for high-net worth individuals, privately held businesses (partnerships, C-Corp & S-Corp) and non-profit entities; review and prepare compiled, review and audited financial statements; participate in new business development initiatives and develop and cultivate professional client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience encompassing progressive scope and responsibilities
  • CPA license preferred, but not required if candidate possesses solid public accounting experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, time management, client service and PC skills including MS Office and accounting software proficiency (Thompson Reuters CS, QuickBooks both Desktop/ Online versions, Drake Tax Software and related products, proficiency are a big plus)
  • Ability to professionally lead tax and accounting engagements, identify complex accounting issues and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience with fiduciary returns or developing new business is a plus
