Job Description

What Youll Do:

AEP is seeking talented and motivated Financial Analyst Principal to become an integral part of our Corporate Planning and Budgeting team.

  • Financial Forecasting : Collaborate with others throughout the company to create financial forecasts, identify key strategic issues, and develop contingency plans using corporate financial models.

  • Variance Analysis : Conduct monthly and quarterly analyses of budget vs. actual results and year-over-year performance to enhance future forecasts and support operational understanding and investor reports.

  • Reporting : Prepare and present reports to business leaders throughout the company including AEP executive management and operating company leadership.

  • Process Improvement : Identify and implement strategies for improving processes, reducing costs, and enhancing revenue.

  • Coordination : Extensive collaboration with corporate finance, planning & budgeting, accounting/tax, commercial operations, generation, transmission, and regulatory functions, requiring cross-functional teamwork across operating companies.

  • Staff Development : Mentor and guide departmental analysts, fostering their professional growth.

What Were Looking For:

Education Requirements : Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering required.

Experience Requirement: 8 or more years of work experience in the disciplines mentioned in the education requirement.

Other Requirements:

  • Preferred Qualifications : Familiarity with AEP accounting practices is preferred. MBA, CPA, CMA, CIA, PE, CFP, or other professional certifications.

  • Leadership : Strong leadership abilities.

  • Presentation Skills: Effective in delivering presentations.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, UI Financial Model experience preferred.

  • Communication: Clear and concise communicator at all organizational levels.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically.

  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset.

  • Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to change.

  • Customer Focus: Commitment to customer service.

  • Planning and Organizing: Strong organizational skills.

$112,869.00-146,730.50 USD
