  • Operations Manager for the Mansfield Public Schools-

The Mansfield Public Schools seeks an Operations Manager (OM) to support the business operations for the school district, managing non-instructional functions, services, and staff so that the instructional team can maintain a concentrated focus on teaching and student achievement, and maximize instructional time. The OM supports district functions ensuring operational excellence and fiscal prudence by creating, refining and implementing policies and systems while upholding the values of Mansfield Public Schools. The OM is a next generation educator who is a critical thinker and innovative problem solver with a high level of emotional intelligence. This position contributes to strong system coherence through the support of structures and systems that improve alignment, management and communication regarding fiscal resources that support the district's Core Beliefs and District Development Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Degree in Business Administration and/or Finance and Accounting

  2. Possesses or is eligible for Connecticut Certification for Business Manager (085)

  3. Familiarity with school district operations

  4. Knowledge of and experience with school finances including federal and state reporting systems and funding sources

  5. Experience with:

  • comprehensive budgeting and financial planning in a school setting including accounting and reporting
  • accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchasing and supply management
  • pension and health benefits
  • collective bargaining negotiations
  • grants and project revenue (i.e. eGMS)
  • financial software (i.e. MUNIS), data processing
  • transportation, food service and plant operations
  • administering personnel functions
  1. Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills

  2. Demonstrated excellence in supervision and team development

  3. Detail-oriented

  4. Strong communication, technology, and interpersonal skills

  5. Other qualifications as determined by the Superintendent and/or the Board of Education

Position is a 12-month, non-union salaried position, 8 hours a day plus full benefits including paid time off, health insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, etc.

Salary Rage: $90,000 to $120,000
