Brown & Brown's PEFOMA Insurance Group in New York is seeking a highly motivated entry-level Risk Analyst to join its dynamic and fast-paced team. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to support senior risk analysts and transactional risk/representations & warranties insurance (RWI) brokers across all phases of the deal process. The Risk Analyst will play an integral role in managing deal workflows, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring timely communication with clients, insurers, and legal counsel.
Key responsibilities include coordinating submission materials and transaction documents, supporting billing and compliance processes, assisting with underwriting and due diligence, and preparing market submissions and presentations under the guidance of senior staff. The role also involves participating in client meetings, tracking action items, and conducting entry-level research on market trends and developments in the transactional risk space.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with an interest in insurance, private equity, and M&A to gain hands-on experience in a high-impact, client-facing environment.
Core Responsibilities- Act as a key support resource for senior risk analysts and brokers, assisting with daily workflow management, file and data organization, and administrative tasks.
- Assist with deal team coordination, ensuring timely organization of documents, management of workflows, and smooth communication with all parties involved.
- Manage submission materials, NDAs, non-reliance letters, engagement letters, and other key transaction documents; maintain precise records and ensure file integrity for ongoing and closed deals.
- Lead billing activities, ensuring client folders are accurate, current, and compliant with internal standards; collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Billing teams to ensure timely and precise billing execution.
- Support the team during the underwriting process, collecting due diligence materials, populating RWI submission templates, and tracking subjectivities to completion.
- Serve as a liaison between insurance carriers, external counsel, and clients to ensure timely exchange of information and delivery of policy documentation.
- Assist with client communications, including follow-up emails, meeting summaries, and status updates to keep all parties aligned.
- Join team calls and client meetings, taking accurate notes, distributing summaries, and tracking action items to completion.
- Conduct entry-level research on deal trends, market developments, and industry news impacting RWI and transactional risk.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries under the guidance of senior staff to support deal execution and client advisory efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Law, Accounting, or related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Excellent organizational and client service skills, with the ability to support multiple team members and manage concurrent projects effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Dynamics, and SharePoint; comfort learning new workflow tools.
- Demonstrated interest in insurance, private equity, and M&A (internship or coursework experience preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professionalism, collaboration, and responsiveness.
- Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to delivering accurate and high-quality work.
- Proactive approach to managing deal processes, ensuring timely follow-up and task completion.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
Pay Range
65000 - 85000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
