This person serves as strategic business partner for General Manager and department heads. Responsible for interpreting financial results and collaborating with property leadership to improve financial performance. Leadership responsibility to provide guidance to property leadership on financial implications of operational decisions.This role is the top financial executive who will oversee all financial operations, including Accounting, Cage Operations, Compliance, Count, Drop, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Auditing. This leader will focus on fostering a positive and engaging work environment for the team, providing exceptional guest service all while operating as effectively and efficient as possible. Ensures all financial statements and reports are prepared and presented in a timely manner including income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements in accordance with GAAP and pro formaEstablishes and continuously reviews enterprise-wide financial policies and procedures and internal controls over financial reports. Ensures design and execution of controls are operating effectively and are complying.Responsible for developing and maintaining a qualified staff that has the capabilities of executing the required actions necessary for complying with all Financial Reporting requirementsResponsible for creating a positive and engaging work environment and creating a high functioning team through hiring, training, team development, performance management and feedback, development plans and succession planning for all key rolesOversees the direction and strategy for the department, including driving continuous improvement at all levelsEnsures that effective internal controls are maintained in accordance with the minimum internal controls' standards adopted by the Sycuan Gaming Commission and the National Indian Gaming CommissionOversees the effective and efficient relationships with external auditorsContributes to the overall organizational planning and policy making efforts of the Casino and the determination of its goals, objectives and strategies as a member of the senior leadership teamParticipate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational executionComplete analysis of financial results; develop recommendations to address areas of concernDevelop and maintain capital budgetEstablishes yearly objectives and shares with team with respect to finance and accounting initiativesOversee cash flow and transfers between banks to ensure positive cash flow and provide timely reports to CouncilReview all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead cost allocationEnhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systemsEnsure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functionsApprove all cash outflows including payrollOversee review of all contractsOther duties as assigned
Job Specifications:Education and Experience:Essential:
Bachelors' DegreeAt least 10 years of experience in a financial management positionAt least 3 years of that experience in a senior financial management position
