This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned commercial credit professional who excels in portfolio oversight, proactive risk management, and borrower relationship management with exposure to loan workout strategies.
The Commercial Portfolio Manager is accountable for managing and servicing a commercial loan portfolio while monitoring credit risk, maintaining borrower relationships, and protecting asset quality.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and service a portfolio of commercial loan relationships
Monitor borrower performance, covenant compliance, insurance tracking, and risk ratings
Review past-due and matured loans; recommend appropriate action plans
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and repayment capacity
Prepare portfolio reports, including past dues, exceptions, performance updates, and profitability
Conduct borrower interviews to assess risk and lending needs
Interpret loan documents and exercise independent credit judgment
Participate in loan structuring and negotiation with borrowers and credit unions
Support loan closings, documentation review, and administrative oversight
Implement workout strategies for adversely graded loans to mitigate risk and minimize loss
Participate in collection efforts and evaluate restructuring scenarios
Identify opportunities for borrower retention and relationship expansion
Mentor Financial Analysts, Portfolio Manager I's, and Interns

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Formal credit training preferred
4-7 years of commercial credit analysis and/or portfolio management experience
Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation and risk monitoring
Experience managing problem loans and workout strategies
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Strong analytical, communication, and independent decision-making abilities
