Financial Risk Manager (Riskonnect)
Our local client, a well-established Pacific Northwest energy and infrastructure organization, is seeking an experienced Financial Risk Manager to lead the implementation and adoption of its enterprise insurance and claims management platform, Riskonnect. This role will serve as the hands-on implementation lead, partnering with Treasury, Legal, Finance, Operations, and IT to translate insurance processes and reporting needs into a fully functional system that supports insurance program management, claims tracking, and financial visibility.
While insurance expertise is important, this position is not focused on broking or renewals. Instead, the primary objective is to ensure Riskonnect is successfully configured, implemented, and operationalized across the organization!
Type: Contract - 6+ Months Duration
Pay: $70.00 - 80.00/hr., DOE
Location: Portland, Oregon - Flexible/Hybrid
Responsibilities of the Financial Risk Manager:
Serve as the day-to-day implementation lead for the Riskonnect platform, ensuring successful configuration, testing, and adoption
Partner with internal stakeholders including Treasury, Legal, Finance, Operations, and IT to define system requirements and translate insurance processes into system workflows
Configure and validate insurance policy data, exposure data, and claims tracking workflows within Riskonnect
Support development of claims intake processes, lifecycle workflows, and reporting dashboards for leadership and finance teams
Review and validate work related to data preparation, migration, reconciliation, and cleanup
Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and system usage guidelines
Coordinate user testing, training, and go-live readiness activities
Serve as the primary liaison with Riskonnect consultants and external brokers during implementation
Ensure the organization can confidently manage policies, claims, and reporting within Riskonnect following implementation
Qualifications of the Financial Risk Manager:
5 to 8 years of experience in insurance risk management or corporate insurance
Hands-on experience implementing or materially supporting a Riskonnect system deployment
Experience with system configuration, data loading, workflow setup, testing, or user adoption
Strong understanding of commercial insurance programs and claims management processes
Ability to translate insurance processes into structured system workflows and data structures
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a contract environment
Experience working with Riskonnect policy, claims, and reporting modules
Experience supporting organizations in utilities, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated industries
Exposure to retained risk structures such as self-insurance or captive programs
Experience collaborating with Treasury or senior finance leadership
Background developing system documentation, training materials, or operational processes
