Interim Director of Finance

Vaco has partnered with mission-driven, nonprofit organization that is in search of an experienced Interim Director of Finance to support finance operations during a leadership transition. This role will provide hands-on accounting and finance leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit expertise and the ability to lead the team in a hybrid environment. Job Title: Interim Director of Finance Location: Phoenix, AZ (hybrid - onsite Monday through Wednesday) Pay Rate: $60 - $75 per hour DOE Project Duration: 3 months (potential contract-to-hire) Responsibilities Include: Oversee all U.S. finance and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting Lead and manage a team of accountants across the U.S. Partner closely with leadership on financial reporting, compliance and U.S. GAAP adherence Ensure compliance with donor restrictions, grants, and U.S. government funding requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA license strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
