Payroll Tax Supervisor

Vaco Phoenix is partnering with a growing organization in the Mesa area to hire a Tax Supervisor. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a hybrid schedule after training, strong leadership exposure, and the opportunity to oversee a team within a large multi-state tax environment. Compensation: $95,000-$110,000 annual salary 10% annual bonus Responsibilities: Supervise and mentor a team of 8-10 Tax Specialists Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings and payments across multiple states Review and validate tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance Partner closely with payroll teams to support payroll tax accuracy and issue resolution Research and resolve tax-related issues and notices Ensure recurring filing deadlines are met in a high-volume environment Assist with process improvements, training, and implementation of best practices Support new state and locality tax setup and compliance requirements Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field 5+ years of tax experience within a corporate or high-volume environment Experience with multi-state tax compliance Prior supervisory experience with direct reports Experience partnering with payroll teams and reviewing payroll tax filings Strong understanding of tax compliance processes, deadlines, and controls Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
