Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required; master's degree preferred. 5-10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience. Strong knowledge of financial systems and regulatory compliance. Proven background in planning, implementing, and evaluating fiscal strategies. Demonstrated ability to partner with executives, physicians, and operational leaders. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Preferred Background & Skills Experience in healthcare operations or physician group practice environments. Expertise in financial analysis, dashboard creation, and scenario modeling. Outstanding communication skills, translating complex data for diverse audiences. Change management and process improvement skills. Confidence and executive presence working with boards and senior stakeholders. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead long-term financial planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling. Develop strong physician and operational partnerships to improve financial understanding and performance alignment. Modernize financial reporting and analytics, enhancing transparency, timeliness, and actionable insights. Oversee treasury, accounting, budgeting, audit, tax, and ensure strict internal controls. Optimize cash flow, banking relationships, and capital allocation strategies. Drive financial strategy for revenue cycle operations and advise on contracts and agreements. Mentor and develop the finance team, building organizational financial acumen and driving continuous process improvement. Communicate financial progress, expectations, and changes clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
