JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Budget Analyst is responsible for assisting with the financial management of the District's General Fund and supplemental-funded budgets.
WORK MONTHS
12 Months
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assist with development and analysis of the budgets for general fund, site-based, special education, and other supplemental programs.
2. Review payments and requisitions.
3. Prepare financial reports and manage cash flow.
4. Prepare and review budget transfers.
5. Monitor position control and maintain records in Munis.
6. Manage time and effort reporting for Federally-funded employees.
7. Assist with the District's financial responsibilities with Charter Schools/Annual Charter School applications and reviews
8. Conduct budget training for school-based and program staff.
9. Assist with the preparation of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards for the annual Single Audit of the School District.
10. Perform continuous research and data entry in Munis.
11. Respond to inquiries from Principals and Program Managers by providing information and assistance before and during the operation of programs.
12. All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED
N/A
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Relevant Experience Preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and other business-related software.
- Munis experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work productively with external auditors and vendors.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with schools and other departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The working conditions and physical requirements described here are representative of, but not limited to, those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made.
Physical Demand: This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employees will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.
Work Environment:
- Work in-person and collaborate with staff at multiple sites and multiple disciplines
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Requires considerable concentration and creativity
- Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and work load.
