Chief Financial Officer About the opportunity: A nonprofit senior services organization in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations, accounting, budgeting, audit coordination, compliance, internal controls, cash management, and Board-level financial reporting. This is a hands-on executive finance role supporting mission-critical senior service programs, related entities, and regulated funding environments. What you will do: Lead financial and fiscal management across the organization and related entities. Report directly to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance, forecasts, budgets, and organizational financial health. Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cost management, cash flow, banking, investments, insurance, and internal controls. Coordinate annual CPA audits, external financial statements, audit support, footnotes, and IRS Form 990 preparation support. Maintain strong internal accounting controls, fraud prevention practices, segregation of duties, and corrective action processes. Lead annual budgeting, budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, multi-year forecasting, and scenario modeling. Support program and executive leadership with financial analysis tied to funding streams, program performance, and sustainability. Monitor financial activity connected to related entities and HUD property operations in coordination with outside partners. Manage and develop assigned finance/accounting personnel to ensure timely, accurate departmental deliverables. Required qualifications: Master's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field. Active CPA or CMA credential. Senior-level finance/accounting leadership experience with responsibility for audits, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, controls, and executive reporting. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit or regulated financial reporting requirements. Experience coordinating external audits and working with CPA firms. Ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare reports, statements, projections, and recommendations. Strong supervisory and departmental leadership experience. Ability to work 100% on-site in Jacksonville, FL. Valid driver's license. Preferred qualifications: Prior nonprofit financial leadership experience. Experience with nonprofit audits, Form 990 preparation support, restricted funding, grants, or federal/state funding compliance. Experience with OMB Circular A-133, Uniform Guidance, HUD, housing, senior services, healthcare, human services, or other regulated funding environments. Board, Audit Committee, Investment Committee, or executive committee reporting experience. Multi-entity, multi-program, or related-entity financial oversight experience. Experience improving internal controls, correcting audit deficiencies, and strengthening financial policies. Florida CPA license preferred, though not required. Compensation and work model: Compensation: $110,000 annually, firm. Work model: 100% on-site in Jacksonville, FL. Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours.
