The Patient Financial Counselor partners with Social Workers/Care Coordinators/Case Managers and other members of a patient's care team to assist patients with navigating their insurance benefits, applying for benefits, including financial assistance, and understanding their financial responsibilities for for emergency department care, acute hospital care, post-acute care, and outpatient care. The Financial Counseling Specialist works on-site at their assigned hospital campus, and as needed, may be required to remotely support other campuses.

Position: Patient Financial Counselor (100% On-Site)

Shift: Monday - Friday, Day Schedule

Location: Media, PA - Riddle Hospital

Experience:

  • 2-3 Years in healthcare billing experience and/or accounts receivable experience is required.
  • 1 Year of Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts, billing regulations and medical terminology required.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in financial assistance in healthcare required.

Education:

High School Diploma / GED required. Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licensures/Certifications:

Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)/American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)/Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable
