As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the Fixed Assets subledger and processing relevant transactions in a timely manner to generate depreciation entries for the monthly close process. Youll play an important role in managing fixed assets, supporting financial reporting processes, and helping drive informed business decisions through accurate and timely financial analysis. - Process asset additions, retirements, and other fixed asset transactions to be able to calculate and post depreciation expense in relevant Division prior to closing the books.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations and reporting related to Fixed Assets
- Collaborate with corporate department stakeholders to develop annual budget for Fixed Assets.
- Monitor and apply policies and procedures to assist with guiding financial decisions.
- Identify, assess and communicate issues or opportunities affecting profitability and/or overall efficiencies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend changes that will improve the companys financial performance. Comply with all internal controls and other relevant accounting standards and policies.
- Additional ad hoc projects as assigned by the Assistant Controller.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.
- A minimum of two years experience in a finance-focused role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts; retail accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fixed assets would be an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including exceptional skills with Excel, Access and other analytical tools. Working knowledge of Oracle or related large ERP system an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence decisions to profitably drive the business.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to handle confidentiality.
- Strong analytical, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities with ease while continuing to meet deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
- The expected starting salary range for this role is $69,800 - $91,600 ; the final offer will reflect relevant skills and experience.
