LHH Recruitment Solutions (pka Parker+Lynch) is partnering with a family-owned, multi-entity automotive group in the Lafayette area seeking a Chief Financial Officer. This role serves as a key member of the leadership team and will oversee financial strategy, accounting operations, and long-term growth initiatives across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role with both strategic and operational responsibilities, ideal for a finance leader who can elevate financial processes while partnering closely with ownership. The ideal candidate has multi-entity automotive dealership experience. Reporting to the CEO and open due to retirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall financial strategy, planning, and performance management

  • Serve as a key advisor to ownership on financial decisions, growth, and capital allocation

  • Oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting

  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning

  • Analyze business performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights

  • Oversee multi-entity financial reporting and consolidation

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, manufacturer reporting, and regulatory requirements

  • Lead cash flow management, banking relationships, and capital planning

  • Evaluate acquisitions, new store opportunities, and strategic initiatives

  • Build, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team

  • Implement improved systems, reporting tools, and scalable processes

  • Partner with operations leadership to improve profitability and performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Automotive dealership experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience

  • 5+ years' of leadership experience

  • Experience leading accounting functions in multi-entity environments

  • Experience with financial strategy, FP&A, and operational finance

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Foundation in public accounting/audit preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in accounting functions
