This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys operating independently and taking full ownership of the accounting function in a small-company environment. The Controller will serve as the company's senior accounting leader while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day execution of accounting activities. This position does not currently include direct people management responsibilities. The Controller will: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and financial performance to support company objectives Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial projections Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements Coordinate and assist with audits, tax preparation, and year-end financial activities Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and financial procedures Review job costing, labor tracking, and manufacturing-related financial data for accuracy and efficiency Support management with financial analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and operational decision-making Oversee payroll processes and ensure accurate reporting and recordkeeping Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information Collaborate with department managers regarding budgets, expenditures, and financial planning Assist with insurance reporting, benefit administration coordination, and other administrative financial responsibilities as needed Support ERP system accuracy and financial data integrity Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting practices Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Understanding of manufacturing accounting and job costing preferred Interviews are happening now!
