Assistant Controller - Financial Reporting

POSITION OVERVIEW The Controller I will provide high-level support to the Vice President of Accounting for the management of Gentex's accounting and financial activities with responsibilities focused one of the following functional areas: General Accounting, Operations, or Financial Reporting. This is an onsite position located in Holland, MI. It is not open to hybrid or remote work at this time. WHAT YOU'LL DO Oversee designated functional area to develop and execute strategies to ensure accuracy. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements. Review and monitor designated functional area accounts and reconciliations. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Assist in the development and preparation of budgets and forecasts. Participate in preparation for the annual audit. Develop reports for management and regulatory bodies based on functional area of responsibility. Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances. Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records. Other duties as assigned. HOW YOU'LL DO IT Building Collaborative Relationships - Developing, maintaining, and strengthening partnerships with others inside or outside the organization. Attention to Detail - Ensuring information is complete and accurate; following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters. Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. WHAT TO BRING 4-year degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other related field. At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Account, Assistant Controller, or equivalent role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 1-3 years of Leadership experience. WHAT WILL HELP Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Professional certification (e.g., CPA) Advanced Excel skills.
