This role is responsible for prospecting, generating and nurturing leads among independent tax preparers (Firms EROs) to facilitate the acquisition of their practices, leading due diligence efforts during company owned acquisitions, while also supporting franchisees in expanding their businesses through strategic acquisitions and business development needs. This position can be remote; however, candidates within commuting distance to Sarasota, FL office will be given preference. Employees in the Sarasota office are hybrid with a Tuesday - Thursday in-office model. What you will do here: Proactively identify, contact, and develop relationships with independent EROs, especially those seeking exit strategies or business migration. Build and maintain a comprehensive independent ERO database, tracking trends, ownership, and contact information over multiple years. Score and prioritize independent EROs for acquisition or partnership, aligning with footprint growth strategies. Collaborate with franchisees and company owned field leadership to identify acquisition targets and support the expansion within defined territories. Coordinate with internal teams to leverage analytics and support footprint optimization efforts (e.g., analyzing independent ERO data by state, identifying sizable opportunities). Drive acquisitions in high-priority markets aligned with strategic footprint planning, collaborating closely with internal teams to target pre-determined growth areas. Support process mapping, best practices, and tools set-up as needed, though the main emphasis is on pipeline development, sales and relationship-building. Skills you will bring for success: Bachelors degree, or equivalent related business experience required. Strong sales acumen and proactive outreach skills; ability to "hustle" and plant seeds for long-term growth. 3+ years of experience in the tax preparation industry, with demonstrated familiarity with ERO operations and the independent tax preparation landscape; however, 5+ years of experience is preferred and will be given preference. 3+ years of experience in the retail financial services industry. 3+ years of experience in acquisitions, business development, or deal-making inclusive of negotiation, financial review, and closing. Analytical ability to interpret ERO data to prioritize targets and inform territory strategy. Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills; comfortable initiating and sustaining outreach across a large, distributed target market. Experience working cross-functionally with legal, finance, field operations and franchise teams Proficiency with various software programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and ESRI; CRM / Fran Connect experience helpful. 30% to 40% travel required.
