Overview
Seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, cost accounting, and cash management for a growing organization. This role partners closely with leadership to support business strategy, operational efficiency, and overall financial performance.
Responsibilities
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages
Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
Analyze financial results, trends, and variances for leadership
Lead cost accounting functions including standard costing, margin analysis, and manufacturing reporting
Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and daily financial transactions
Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, credit management, and vendor expense activity
Coordinate sales reporting, commission calculations, and bonus reporting
Partner with external CPA firm on tax filings and compliance requirements
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and operational processes
Supervise and mentor accounting staff while supporting team development
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of accounting leadership experience
Strong background in financial reporting and cost accounting
Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
ERP system experience required; Sage experience is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
Preferred Background
Manufacturing industry experience
Experience supporting ESOP environments is a plus
