Tax ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and manage tax compliance, planning, and consulting for a diverse portfolio of clients including high net worth individuals, trusts and estates, passthrough entities, corporations, nonprofits, and real estate interests. The ideal candidate will combine technical tax expertise with strong client management and supervisory experience to deliver accurate compliance, strategic planning, and timely advisory services across domestic and international tax matters.Key ResponsibilitiesManage preparation, review and filing of federal, state and local tax returns including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 709, 1041, 706 and related schedules for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates.Lead tax compliance and reporting for passthrough entities, S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, and fiduciary returns; oversee bookkeeping and tax provision processes (ASC 740) as needed.Provide tax planning and structuring advice for high net worth individuals (HNW/HNWI), families, trusts and estates, including gift and estate planning, trust administration and fiduciary tax considerations.Deliver tax advisory services for real estate, construction, professional services, and entrepreneurial clients, including nexus/apportionment studies and state & local tax (SALT) planning.Support international tax matters including crossborder structuring, treaty analysis, FATCA/CRS/FBAR compliance, transfer pricing issues, and VAT/GST considerations.Participate in M&A tax due diligence, integration planning, and postclose tax structuring and optimization.Advise on tax credits and incentives (R D credits, federal/state incentives) and provide research on complex technical issues to support client positions.Oversee and mentor tax staff: review workpapers, conduct quality reviews, provide feedback, and develop team technical skills and client communication capabilities.Manage tax controversy and audit support including responding to notices, preparing documentation, and coordinating with regulatory authorities and external counsel.Utilize tax software and technology (ONESOURCE, CCH, Vertex, CorpTax, Oracle) and advanced tools (Excel/VBA, Alteryx/Power Query, SQL) to improve efficiency, automate processes and integrate tax workflows with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).Maintain uptodate knowledge of tax legislation, BEPS/OECD guidance, and industry trends to advise clients proactively and adjust planning strategies.Build and maintain strong client relationships, manage engagements, prioritize deliverables, and ensure timely, accurate service delivery under tight deadlines.QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field; advanced degree (JD, LLM, or Masters) preferred.Active CPA or EA credential required; JD or LLM in Taxation is a strong plus.Minimum 68 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or professional services, including supervisory/managerial experience; experience as Senior Tax Manager or Tax Supervisor preferred.Demonstrated experience with individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate taxation, including high net worth client work and fiduciary returns.Handson experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 709, 1041, 706 and related schedules.Strong knowledge of state & local tax (SALT), international tax, transfer pricing basics, tax provision (ASC 740), and tax controversy/audit processes.Experience with tax research, tax planning & structuring, M&A tax due diligence, payroll/withholding tax and indirect taxes (Sales & Use, VAT/GST).Proficiency with tax software such as ONESOURCE, CCH, Vertex, CorpTax and enterprise systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite); advanced Excel skills including VBA; familiarity with Alteryx/Power Query and SQL preferred.Excellent supervisory, project management, and communication skills with the ability to mentor staff and interact with Clevel clients and advisors.High attention to detail, strong analytical and problemsolving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Commitment to professional ethics and continuing technical education; active participation in professional organizations a plus.
