Job Summary:
Financial Analysts
The Financial Analyst provides comprehensive financial oversight and support for academic units and departmental operations in the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering. This role is responsible for budget development, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting across a variety of funding sources and activities. The analyst ensures compliance with institutional policies and supports strategic financial planning through forecasting, modeling, and market analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelors degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Financial Analyst, I: Requires a bachelors (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a masters (or equivalency) degree.
Financial Analyst, II: Requires a bachelors (or equivalency) + 4 years or a masters (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in finance and accounting.

Responsibilities:
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Oversight
- Develop, monitor, and reconcile multi-unit budgets for academic departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conducted monthly/annual budget reviews, variance analysis, and year-end reconciliations to support strategic planning.
- Built financial models and forecasts for tuition revenue and funding sources to guide long-term planning.
- Supported departmental budgets by managing salary adjustments, tuition benefits, and fund transfers.
- Prepare and review key financial reports, including Development/Research Finance and Strategic Planning reports.
Financial Transactions & Approvals
- Enter and review ePAF transactions across multiple faculty and staff classifications.
- Monitor and approve eJournal entries, cost transfers, deposits, and payroll adjustments.
- Ensured compliance by reviewing vendor payments, UShop requests, and travel reimbursements.
- Manage P-card transactions, resolve paycheck discrepancies, and review purchasing requests efficiently.
Team and Departmental Collaboration
- Serve as a financial liaison to Faculty and Department/Units leadership team.
- Work as part of a finance team to streamline financial operations, assist in creating and implementing best practices and policy within Price College of Engineering operations.
