SALARY RANGE- The advertised hiring range for Strategic Financial Planning Analyst II position is $83,200 - $104,000, with a maximum opportunity of up to $124,800 with tenure and strong performance.
- The advertised hiring range for Strategic Financial Planning Analyst Senior position is $102,720 - $128,400, with a maximum opportunity of up to $154,080 with tenure and strong performance.
- The advertised hiring range for Strategic Financial Planning Analyst Lead position is $122,320 - $152,900, with a maximum opportunity of up to $183,480 with tenure and strong performance.
Introductory Period: New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.

Overview The Strategic Financial Planning Analyst II supports the district's long-term success by assisting with the strategic financial planning and budgeting processes; strategic and financial modeling, forecasting and analysis; and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for monitoring and reporting. The primary goal is to assist in providing valuable information, tools, and recommendations to help executive management develop and maintain effective long-term budget and forecast strategies, leveraging district assets and optimizing opportunities to help the District to achieve its strategic goals. Responsibilities
- Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect strategic and financial planning: Participate, support and occasionally lead district-wide cross-functional teams to recommend, guide, and continuously review clearly defined Board strategic financial policies and guiding principles. Identify opportunities and support, and occasionally lead, district-wide process improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial planning and budgeting cycle, while increasing the informative value of the content provided to senior management. Apply economic and financial principles to identify and diagnose issues and risks that can be further analyzed and communicated to executives, board members, and district staff. Utilize industry expertise to identify and diagnose issues regarding financial, risk, and strategic impacts of alternative actions to support and guide strategic financial decision making. Support and occasionally lead the development of management supported financial targets and aid in establishing industry benchmarks to be used in budgeting, planning, forecasting and performance management reporting.
- Provide strategic and financial planning support: Support the district strategic financial and business planning cycle, budgeting and balanced scorecard processes through knowledge of performance management methodologies. Support District cross functional team(s) in developing cost of service analysis and creating rate design methodologies. Promote fiscal responsibilities by supporting sound financial and strategic planning analysis and advice.
- Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity: Provide mid to high level analysis of major long-term district initiatives to support of the fiscal growth of the district. Support, and occasionally develop, enhance, and operate various predictive economic and financial models, such as End-use load Forecast Models, Hydro Optimization Models, Financial Models, Volatility Models. Stay current with financial news and trends in the power industry. Provide timely information based on a thorough understanding of districts budget module, ERP, performance management, and capital management systems to support financial accuracy, accountability and justification. Through thorough utility and industry knowledge support financial knowledge at all organizational levels through occasional to frequent contact with executives, board members, and district personal. Utilize strong computer application knowledge and moderate to advanced database and data warehouse design to support the long-term goals of the district.
