This role supervises financial aid counselors, leading by example to ensure they follow policies and procedures while maintaining high service standards. The Assistant Director coordinates the awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional aid, providing timely and accurate processing of student aid records.
In addition to advising students and families on financial aid eligibility, loan requirements, and special circumstances, this role applies policies and procedures to efficiently process student financial aid applications. The Assistant Director helps develop and maintain policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulations, and presents financial aid information. Collaborating with leadership, this role plays a key part in planning and evaluating office activities. - High School Diploma or equivalent

- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree
- Experience Working in higher education
- Supervisory experience
- Experience working with management information systems and software programs
- Comfortability with technology and working with IT partners to develop, test and launch technical financial aid processes or systems
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Ability to act independently, take initiative, build consensus and exercise sound judgement
- Ability to communicate articulately, work cooperatively and harmoniously with staff and students
- National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators ( NASFAA ) credentials or Financial Aid Administrator ( FAA ) Certification
