The Sr. Commercial Portfolio Manager supports commercial lending by managing an assigned loan portfolio, analyzing credit risk, structuring loan requests, and partnering with Commercial Relationship Managers to deliver responsive client service. This role combines financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, loan documentation support, and cross-functional collaboration to help maintain credit quality, regulatory compliance, and a strong client experience in a fast-paced banking environment. Expectations:
- Manage and support an assigned commercial loan portfolio, including servicing, monitoring, renewals, and ongoing portfolio maintenance.
- Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers to structure credit requests, support new loan originations, and facilitate annual reviews and renewals.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, collateral, borrowing base reports, covenant compliance, and other credit indicators to assess risk and identify trends.
- Coordinate loan documentation, commitment letters, closing requirements, and post-closing follow-up to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging credit issues, recommend risk rating changes, and escalate concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage collateral-related requirements, including appraisals, environmental reports, inspections, and other third-party due diligence.
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, appraisers, inspectors, and internal partners to support loan closings, portfolio servicing, and an excellent client experience.
- Prepare portfolio reports, maintain accurate records, and support internal audits, loan review activities, and regulatory examinations.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and all applicable regulations, including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC requirements.
- Support special projects, continuous process improvement, and professional development as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent banking experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial portfolio management, commercial lending, credit analysis, or a related banking role.
- Working knowledge of commercial lending products, including C&I and commercial real estate, as well as financial statements, tax returns, and loan documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Willing to assist and collaborate with coworkers and clients on a regular basis.
