Summary The Lead Asset Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and lifecycle management of medical equipment assets to ensure optimal utilization, sustained asset value, and protection of the organizations investment. This role drives regional and site-level asset strategies, including equipment availability, reallocation, and standardization, in support of operational efficiency and clinical needs.

Leveraging deep industry knowledge and analytical expertise, the Lead Asset Manager evaluates key business driversincluding utilization, rental spend, and capital planningto inform data-driven decisions. This role leads asset reallocation initiatives, supports capital planning through identification of gaps and underutilized assets, and oversees disposition strategies in partnership with Biomed.

The Lead Asset Manager owns performance tracking and reporting of key metrics, including equipment availability, utilization, rental spend, and workflow efficiency, using insights to influence leadership decisions and improve outcomes.

As a senior individual contributor, this role partners cross-functionally with clinical teams, BioMed, Equipment Coordinators, and commercial leaders to ensure alignment and execution. The Lead Asset Manager provides informal leadership and serves as a strategic advisor, translating complex asset strategies into actionable insights.

This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring that the right equipment is available at the right place and timewhile controlling costs and improving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

MTA Program Leadership & Customer Engagement

  • Serve as the single point of contact for MTA programs (Asset Management, Disinfection & Distribution (D&D), and Encompass), ensuring timely resolution of customer needs and coordination across internal teams
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering ongoing strategic, technical, and operational support
  • Ensure alignment with program objectives while driving service excellence and optimizing asset utilization across the region

Asset Strategy & Optimization

  • Own regional and site-specific strategies to ensure optimal medical equipment availability
  • Drive alignment on asset utilization, standardization, and performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and asset visibility

Asset Reallocation & Coordination

  • Lead asset sharing and reallocation initiatives (temporary and permanent; intra- and interfacility)
  • Partner with Equipment Coordinators to execute efficient equipment movement across sites
  • Ensure effective utilization of existing assets prior to new acquisitions

Rental Management & Cost Reduction

  • Lead system-wide rental reduction efforts
  • Analyze rental data, trends, and usage patterns
  • Conduct buy vs. rent analyses to support financial decision-making
  • Lead targeted initiatives to reduce rental spend

Capital Planning & Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Support capital planning by identifying equipment gaps, overages, and underutilized assets
  • Develop and oversee disposition strategies (redeploy, resale, recycle) in partnership with BioMed
  • Ensure appropriate lifecycle management practices are followed across all assets

Data, Reporting & Performance Management

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Equipment availability
    • Utilization rates
    • Rental spend
    • Workflow efficiency
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to leadership teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:
    • Biomed (inventory accuracy, safety, compliance)
    • Equipment Coordinators (asset movement and allocation execution)
    • Clinical and operational leaders (alignment to patient care needs)
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on asset-related decisions

Core Focus: Strategy, data, optimization, and cost control across the asset lifecycle

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree preferred (Healthcare Administration, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field)

Experience

  • 35+ years of experience in healthcare operations, asset management, supply chain, or related field
  • Experience with capital planning, asset lifecycle management, or financial analysis preferred
  • Familiarity with asset tracking systems, CMMS, or analytics platforms preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence decision-making
  • Financial acumen (cost analysis, ROI, buy vs. rent evaluation)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive outcomes

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory, and company policies
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
  • Support continuous improvement and standardization of asset management processes

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Operates in a fast-paced healthcare environment with regional scope
  • Requires collaboration across multiple facilities and departments
  • May involve travel between sites as needed
