The Assistant Financial Manager (AFM) serves as the assistant to the Chief Financial Manager (CFM) for the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (BAVAHCS), Bay Pines Florida. The BPVAHCS is a level 1A facility with 400 operating beds, educates 804 students/residents from 100 academic affiliations, and conducts $2M in research. Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS--505-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-505-12 .
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
1) Developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial services including accounting, travel, financial analysis, payroll, audit and reporting.
2) Budget formulation, development, review and execution; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and controlling expenditures.
3) Interpreting fiscal regulations, program objectives, and developing procedures to resolve fiscal operating challenges.
4) Providing advice and consultation related to budget and resource management.
5) Performing financial forecasting, trend analysis, and cost modeling to support budget development and resource planning
You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
