Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst - Private Client, Endowments and Foundations Business is a strategic and execution-focused role within Brown Advisory. The role supports the development and delivery of short- and long-term business priorities, helping leadership translate strategic objectives into clear plans, decisions, and actions.
Sitting at the intersection of strategy, execution, and cross-functional coordination, the role provides structure and momentum across a broad portfolio of initiatives, particularly where work spans multiple teams, offices, or leadership forums. The role helps ensure that important priorities are clearly framed, decision-ready, well-governed, and effectively executed.
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a trusted partner to senior leadership across the business, helping to connect the dots across functions, client segments, and offices, strengthen leadership capacity, and improve the quality and timeliness of strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Strategic planning and business support
- Work closely with the Head and COO of the Private Client, Endowments and Foundations Business to support strategic planning, business priorities, and leadership initiatives.
- Support annual and long-term planning activities, including business reviews, growth priorities, and strategic decision-making.
- Conduct business analysis, research, and modelling to support leadership recommendations and strategic initiatives.
- Help leadership assess opportunities, risks, dependencies, and business considerations across key priorities and initiatives.
- Support business and office leadership on annual and multi-year planning, including tactical plans and long-range business priorities.
Strategic project leadership and execution
- Lead and coordinate complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives across the business.
- Help structure and drive projects from concept through execution, including establishing workplans, coordinating stakeholders, tracking milestones, and maintaining momentum across workstreams.
- Operate independently in ambiguous environments, proactively identifying next steps, resolving issues, and advancing initiatives with limited oversight.
- Support strategic initiatives such as business expansion, new offerings, platform development, strategic hires, and other growth priorities.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and operational considerations across initiatives and proactively support alignment and resolution.
Executive communications, decision support, and presentation development
- Prepare executive presentations, briefing materials, business updates, and communications for leadership meetings, business reviews, board meetings, and other leadership discussions.
- Strengthen the management information suite so leadership receives strategic, timely, and decision-useful reporting. In order to improve leadership visibility and decision-making.
- Develop clear recommendations, presentations, and materials to support executive discussions and strategic planning activities.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for information, analysis, and presentations, often under tight timelines and competing priorities.
Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across teams, offices, and functions throughout the firm.
- Partner closely with Finance, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, Information Security, HR, and business teams to support coordination and execution across strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate communication, alignment, and follow-through across complex and cross-functional priorities.
- Support the integration of merger/combination activity; help embed effective operating models, governance, and collaboration across combined teams.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and a collaborative approach when working with stakeholders across the business.
- Contribute to the effectiveness and cohesion of the broader business and to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Reporting, technology, and AI-enabled analysis
- Use available tools, including AI where appropriate, to improve the quality, pace, and consistency of business analysis, reporting, research, and workflow execution.
- Work across multiple data sources and business platforms to extract insights and support decision-making.
- Apply thoughtful judgment to ensure technology supports effective analysis, decision-making, and communication
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, strategic finance, business strategy, business operations, or a similarly analytical and project-oriented environment, with a minimum of 2-5 years in management consulting experience required.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related analytical discipline.
- MBA or other advanced business degree preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional projects or strategic initiatives from planning through execution.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Ability to operate independently with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
- Strong strategic thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, research, and business modelling skills.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including development of high-quality materials for senior leadership and executive forums.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights, recommendations, and action plans.
- Understanding of wealth and asset management business strategy and industry dynamics preferred.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Familiarity and comfort with business technology, data analysis, and AI-enabled tools.
- High levels of professionalism, judgment, discretion, and stakeholder management capability.
- Ability to travel 20-30% of the month.
- Ability to work onsite in Washington D.C. or Baltimore office location.

MD & DC Salary: $150-200k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long-term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
