Job Description:
Join a global technology leader and take your career to the next level. North Star Imaging (NSI) is a worldwide leader in 2D digital radiography and 3D computed tomography equipment. As part of ITW (Illinois Tool Works), we combine the agility of a specialized business with the resources of a Fortune 200 company. We're committed to building a culture that invests in its people, champions continuous improvement, and rewards those who think like owners.
Are you a strategic finance leader who thrives at the intersection of numbers and business growth? Do you want a seat at the table - not just a seat in the back room? If so, this might be the role you've been waiting for.
NSI is looking for an experienced Controller to lead our finance function and join our management team. This is a high-impact role for someone who's equally comfortable building a long-range financial strategy and rolling up their sleeves to strengthen the systems and people behind it.
This isn't a heads-down accounting job. As Controller, you'll have direct influence on business strategy, organic growth initiatives, and the financial health of a global organization. You'll lead and develop a talented team, partner closely with senior leadership, and help shape the culture of a growing business unit - all within the strength and stability of ITW, a Fortune 200 company.
If you're ready to lead, grow, and make a lasting impact - we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Own:
Lead all finance and accounting processes across the business unit, including multi-entity financial consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.
Set and communicate key financial performance indicators that drive better decisions at every level of the organization.
Partner with the GM and management team on Long-Range Planning (LRP) and business strategy.
Develop and enhance internal controls, policies, and best practices that scale with the business.
Automate and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, and accounts receivable.
Coordinate global internal and external audit processes and manage financial risk.
Support statutory consolidations, statutory accounting, and tax audits.
Build key operational reports that give leadership the clarity to act with confidence.
What We're Looking For:
7-10 years of strategic financial leadership experience; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required (advanced degree a plus).
A business-minded problem solver who connects financial insights to real-world outcomes - and has a track record to prove it.
The ability to synthesize complex, multi-source data into clear, actionable recommendations.
A proven team leader and coach who knows how to hire, develop, and retain great talent.
Strong communication skills - you can translate financial complexity into language that resonates with operators, leaders, and everyone in between.
A positive, collaborative approach and genuine investment in the success of the people around you.
Willingness to travel occasionally to NSI and ITW locations.
Compensation Information:
Compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 - $160,000 based on education and experience.
