Our national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group is an advisory practice with significant advancement opportunities. We advise private equity firms, family offices, privately held companies and multinational corporations on the tax aspects of planning, structuring and executing M&A transactions.
RSM US LLP is looking for a dynamic M&A/Financial Instruments Tax Manager to join our growing national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax practice. This is a rapidly growing consulting practice with significant advancement opportunities. We advise multinational corporations, privately held companies, partnerships, and private equity firms on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing M&A transactions.
As a member of our M&A Tax team, you would play a critical role providing advice to our clients and firm personnel in the areas of financial instruments, corporate, and M&A tax. In this role you would have the opportunity to advise on wide ranging issues such as recapitalization, restructuring and bankruptcy transactions, classification, sales, and exchanges of financial instruments, deductibility of interest, hedging transactions, and many others.
Responsibilities:
Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings and opportunities to clients
Identify and develop high value tax opportunities for our clients
Assist clients on a range of financial instrument and related M&A tax issues such as recapitalization, restructuring and bankruptcy transactions, classification, sales, and exchanges of financial instruments, deductibility of interest, and hedging transactions
Planning, managing and executing on advice engagements with limited supervision
Develop, motivate, and train team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university
One of the following is required: an active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office; an active Enrolled Agent (EA) license; or an active Attorney license
Minimum of six years of tax experience in public accounting, with the ability to effectively identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middlemarket clients
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
