We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Finance Analyst to support our Operations team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering financial insights, enabling effective decision-making, and ensuring strong financial performance across the business.

Please Note: this is a temporary role for up to 18 months.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly operating and project budget variances for review and submission.

  • Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for operating and project budgets.

  • Compile, review, and analyze monthly operating cost accruals to ensure accuracy.

  • Set up operating projects (budgeted and unbudgeted) and partner with project managers on cost control, accruals, and forecasting.

  • Travel up to 400 km to remote facilities to provide in-person financial support to operational teams.

  • Deliver training to staff on financial systems, processes, and procedures.

  • Support internal and external audit requests and produce ad hoc financial reports, including trend analysis.

  • Act as a key financial resource within the Incident Command System during emergency response activities.

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree and/or professional designation in a finance, accounting, or business management with 4 or more years of directly related experience.

  • Progress toward a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is considered an asset.

  • Solid understanding of the budgeting cycle; long-term financial planning and multi-year budgeting would be an asset.

  • Proficiency with financial management systems and applications including Advanced Excel (formulas and Pivot tables) PowerBI and SharePoint; Oracle Financials/Project Management would be an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across teams.

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is typically based in a Field Office (80%)

  • Travel required to remote field locations to (20%)
