Position Summary
Under guidance, manages the financial activities and daily operations within the department
Job Responsibilities
- Assists with the development of business plans. Monitors financial outcomes of approved business plans and makes recommendations for business plan revision to align income and expenses. Prepares financial documents in support of recommendations.
- Utilizes financial reports to develop action plans aimed at maintaining or improving financial and/or operational performance.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget submission and projections. Supports and monitors research-related financial activities to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency regulations.
- Oversees and/or approves procurement and disbursement/reimbursement activities. Ensures proper internal controls are in place around financial transactions. Resolves any financial issues as needed.
- Tracks income and identifies outstanding revenue receivables.
- Manages the financial activity of grant portfolios, including pre- and post-award grant management activities.
- Ensures compliance of departmental research effort reporting activities.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified. May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.
- Participates in departmental space planning and coordinates relocation of offices.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
Approximately 4 years of related experience, preferably in an academic healthcare or research setting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.
