We are seeking a Lock Desk Capital Markets Specialist to support our mortgage pipeline through accurate pricing, timely rate locks, and disciplined pipeline management. This role works closely with loan officers, operations, compliance, vendor management and external third parties to ensure loans are locked correctly and delivered in line with investor expectations and margin goals.

This is a detail-driven, fast-paced role focused on managing rate locks, monitoring the pipeline, and protecting margin through sound pricing and secondary market execution. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and keeping things aligned behind the scenes, this is a critical role that directly impacts mortgage performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily rate lock activity, including locks, extensions, re-locks, and cancellations in accordance with company policy.
  • Verify and troubleshoot loan pricing, ensuring accuracy with investor guidelines and loan-level price adjustments.
  • Monitor the locked pipeline, including expiration dates, pricing changes, and risk impacts to margin.
  • Support secondary market execution by managing commitments and maintaining pricing integrity.
  • Balance purchase advice following loan sale and reconcile funding outcomes.
  • Maintain profitability by reviewing pricing decisions and identifying margin impacts.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for rate lock, pricing, and scenario questions.
  • Partner with capital markets leadership and hedge advisory firm to support pipeline risk management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, aggregators, and secondary market partners.
  • Prepare reporting on pipeline activity, volume, pricing, and delivery trends.
  • Ensure data accuracy across systems and identify discrepancies early.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 1 year of mortgage industry experience (processing, secondary, lock desk, or similar), or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfort working with numbers, pricing scenarios, and data sets.
  • Familiarity with mortgage pricing, loan-level pricing adjustments (LLPAs), and investor guidelines preferred.
  • Working knowledge of loan origination systems (LOS) and/or pricing engines preferred.
  • Combines data-driven decision-making with practical, solutions-oriented thinking in complex pricing and pipeline scenarios.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and the ability to interpret and communicate the economic factors influencing mortgage rates, helping educate and support partners.
