Senior Business Analyst

Location: Remote, must reside in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Utah

Schedule: Pacific Time hours

Employment Type: 6-month temporary contract only, not temp-to-hire

Start Date: Targeting June 2026

Important Requirements:

Candidates must currently reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Utah. Candidates outside of this four-state footprint will not be considered.

No C2C, no third-party vendors, and no subcontracting.

Candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis without current or future visa sponsorship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

About the Role:

LHH is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 6-month remote temporary contract opportunity with our client. This role will support IT Delivery Operations by applying business analysis, process improvement, project coordination, financial analysis, and documentation skills to identify opportunities for improvement, design solutions, and help drive medium to large-scale business initiatives to successful completion.

The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders across organizational lines to understand current-state workflows, define future-state needs, document requirements, analyze gaps, and support business process improvement efforts. This role requires someone who can communicate complex ideas clearly, lead requirements discussions, develop high-quality documentation, and influence stakeholders through data-driven analysis and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze current-state business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and help design future-state workflows.

Lead requirements gathering sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.

Document business requirements, process flows, use cases, test plans, test cases, and related project artifacts.

Perform gap analysis and make recommendations to business leadership.

Support process improvement efforts using formal business analysis and business process engineering methods.

Develop presentations, dashboards, reports, and analysis to support leadership decision-making.

Partner with IT, finance, strategy, and business teams to improve transparency around process, portfolio, budget, and operational performance.

Support testing and acceptance testing activities for new reports, programs, tools, and process changes.

Create business cases, stakeholder diagrams, requirements management plans, project plans, schedules, and status reports.

Lead or support small teams on complex work efforts, including estimating, tracking progress, resolving issues, and communicating status.

Train, coach, and support less experienced analysts and peer team members.

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, functional systems design/configuration, acceptance testing, or equivalent related experience.

Strong experience facilitating requirements gathering with small to medium-sized groups.

Ability to perform business analysis for medium to large-scale business efforts.

Experience documenting analysis activities using formal methods such as ISO/IEC standards, agile story cards, or other structured techniques.

Experience with business process modeling methods such as process mapping, use cases, gap analysis, SWOT, FMEA, RASCI, and Ishikawa diagrams.

Strong test case and test plan documentation skills.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Ability to translate technical and complex concepts for a wide variety of audiences.

Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience creating dashboards, reports, and presentations that influence leadership decisions.

Ability to lead requirements sessions and interviews for cross-functional and complex work efforts.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Availity in the authorization space.

Experience with Technology Business Management and Business Capability Model frameworks.

Experience coaching or training other business analysts.

Knowledge of Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Knowledge of Agile software development or project management methodologies.

Experience leading small teams of 3-5 people on complex work efforts.

Healthcare, payer, authorization, or insurance operations experience.

Remote Work Requirements:

This is a remote role, but candidates must reside in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Utah and must work Pacific Time hours.

Contractors will use client-provided equipment. Candidates must have supported home internet service through cable modem, DSL, or fiber. Satellite internet and mobile Wi-Fi are not supported. Candidates must be prepared to plug the client-provided computer directly into their router or modem if required.

Employment Requirements:

6-month temporary contract only.

Must reside in WA, OR, ID, or UT.

Pay Details: $42.00 to $55.00 per hour
