Title: Chief Financial Officer (Tax-Focused) Industry: Single Family Office Location: Charleston, SC Headquarters - Remote Flexability Company Summary: A well-established single-family office is seeking a senior, tax-focused Chief Financial Officer to lead all tax strategy, structuring, and financial oversight activities. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the principal, managing a complex personal balance sheet that spans private investments, real estate, trusts, and multi-jurisdictional structures. This is a highly strategic role with a strong emphasis on tax leadership rather than general finance. The CFO will oversee a small internal team and coordinate closely with external advisors and affiliated investment platform teams. CFO Responsibilities Lead all U.S. and international tax strategy, planning, and compliance across individuals, trusts, and entities Design and implement tax-efficient structures for investments, trusts, and cross-border holdings Oversee gift, estate, and GST tax planning, including wealth transfer strategies Maintain oversight of consolidated cash flow, balance sheet, and investment reporting across jurisdictions and asset classes Partner with internal and external advisors (tax, legal, audit) to ensure alignment on structuring and compliance matters Lead and supervise a small internal team while overseeing operational, real estate, and specialized asset reporting CFO Requirements 15+ years of experience in tax-focused finance roles Prior family office experience preferred, ideally in a senior leadership capacity Background in Big 4 private client or international tax, private banking, wealth management, or legal tax advisory also considered Demonstrated experience managing small teams and external advisors If you are interested in the CFO role, do not hesitate to apply!
