Client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management for our construction and manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining robust accounting systems, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to support company growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, inventory controls, and experience working in a dynamic project-driven or production environment.

As the Controller you will manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as well as ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory reporting requirements. The Controller will coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings with external CPAs and manage the monthly close process including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. In this role you will maintain and oversee general ledger integrity and chart of accounts as well as oversee job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete calculations.

The Controller will prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and support project managers with accurate cost tracking and monitor inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis. The Controller will Implement controls for inventory movement, cycle counting, and COGS accuracy and lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts.

In this role as the Controller, you will prepare cash flow projections and monitor working capital requirements as well as supervise accounting staff and support professional development. The Controller will streamline accounting processes and implement system improvements as well as ensure strong internal controls and maintain policies and procedures.

The Controller will ensure accurate system integration with project management and operations tools.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of job costing, inventory management, WIP accounting, and revenue recognition.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
