Job Description


The Corporate Controller role is responsible for directing the accounting and finance activities. The position will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable areas of the enterprise, which is comprised of (4) team members. The Corporate Controller will also work closely with the Project Finance & Governance Manager to produce accurate reporting on project financials. 

The Corporate Controller is an integral member of the national leadership team with direct influence over our profitability and growth, reporting into our VP of Finance and Accounting. Together you will work to grow your immediate team, influence positive change and shape the way for a successful 2025 and beyond! 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, domestic and international regulatory requirements 
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting oversight for the proper recognition of project revenue and expenses across the enterprise
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Prepare all financial reports across the enterprise, including reports to Board Members and other external stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the VP of Finance and Accounting, establish and implement short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local accounting standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Lead annual CPA financial review, tax and bank audits, assist with 401k audit, union audits, as needed
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

Requirements:

  • Prior leadership is required
  • Experience within the AEC industry is required
  • Advanced excel skills; proficient with pivot tables, v-look ups and alike
  • Deltek experience highly preferred 
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience as a senior-level accountant and/or prior Controller experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Finance or Accounting is required
