Position Summary
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the firm's financial health and supporting strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, coupled with significant experience in the engineering consulting industry. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and board of directors to provide financial leadership, develop long-term strategies, and drive the company's financial performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis processes including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Financial Operations and Management:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
- Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and financial risk.
Business Performance and Growth:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
- Support business development efforts by providing financial insights and evaluating potential projects and investments.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to optimize project profitability and efficiency.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management practices.
- Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads and project managers on financial matters.
- Promote a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- 10–20 years of progressive financial leadership experience in high-growth, multi-location environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and performance dashboards. preferred
- Experience with private equity, M&A, or high-growth retail operations. preferred
Demonstrated Experience in:
- Financial strategy and forecasting
- Cash flow and working capital management
- Gross margin and cost control
- Store-level financial performance
- Capital planning and allocation
- Team development and succession planning
- Banking, insurance, and tax oversight
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
