Finance Controller Jobs in British Columbia

A Finance Controller plays a crucial role in the finance industry by managing all financial aspects of the company. They are responsible for producing periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and implementing comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. They also play an important part in formulating financial strategies, managing budgeting processes, and advising on investment activities.

Important skills for a Finance Controller include strong analytical, strategic planning, and management abilities, and excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods. They must also possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification. Prior to taking on the role of a Finance Controller, a professional may have held positions such as a Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst, or an Assistant Controller.
