Budget Analyst

This establishes an open continuous announcement for a GS-560-11/12/13 which will be used to maintain eligible/qualified applicants to be considered for current and future positions within the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense using hiring authority in 5 USC 9905.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Specialized Experience:
To qualify your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For the GS-11 position, Specialized experience is defined as: Experience supporting financial or budget administration services, such as planning, programming, budget formulation, justification, presentation, monitoring, or execution; or experience monitoring, researching, or analyzing financial or budgetary data to ensure accuracy or identify trends or discrepancies.

For the GS-12 position, Specialized experience is defined as: Experience independently identifying, analyzing, or resolving budgetary issues related to planning, programming, formulation, justification, presentation, monitoring, or execution; or experience utilizing financial systems or tools to research, analyze, or validate budgetary data.

For the GS-13 position, Specialized experience is defined as: Experience providing financial or budgetary advisory services, such as identifying, analyzing, or resolving complex budgetary issues for an organization; or experience providing advisory support across the budget lifecycle, including planning, programming, formulation, justification, presentation, or execution.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-11 LEVEL : Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 and GS-13 grade level

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
