WHAT YOU WILL DO
Budget Leadership & Coordination
Lead budget coordination for Michigan-based R D teams, including project, vehicle, and fixed asset budgets
Partner cross-regionally with California teams to ensure alignment and consistency
Support annual planning cycles and budget recovery processes
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Review budget submissions and provide feedback to ensure compliance and readiness for leadership approval
Prepare and present budgets to internal committees
Conduct monthly budget forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting
Analyze spending trends, identify execution gaps, and proactively recommend solutions
Perform ROI analysis for large-scale budgets (300M KRW+)
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as the primary liaison for HQ Finance and collaborate closely with Korea-based stakeholders
Lead monthly budget performance meetings with Michigan teams; support California team reviews
Engage underperforming teams to resolve budget execution challenges
Systems, Data & Process Excellence
Co-manage the budget database, Microsoft 365 Group, and SharePoint environments
Ensure accuracy and integrity of Michigan data and validate cross-regional data
Drive continuous improvement of budget processes, reporting standards, and systems
Train internal teams on budgeting tools, policies, and best practices
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
5+ years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or engineering related field.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Teams and SharePoint)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Korean language proficiency
Preferred skills:
Experience in the automotive industry
Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar tools
SAP
