Senior Tax Accountant

Austin, Texas Area Full-Time | In-Office We are a growing CPA firm seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This position is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, values a collaborative office environment, and can independently manage tax engagements with confidence and professionalism. We are looking for someone who is technically strong, calm under pressure, team-oriented, and capable of helping reduce workload during busy tax seasons. Responsibilities \tPrepare and review: \tIndividual tax returns (1040) \tPartnership returns (1065) \tS Corporation returns (1120S) \tAssist clients with tax planning and consulting \tRespond to IRS notices and client tax questions \tCommunicate directly with clients in a professional and confident manner \tWork collaboratively with staff and firm leadership \tHelp maintain efficiency and workflow during tax season Qualifications \t5-10 years of public accounting tax experience preferred \tMinimum 3 years recent tax preparation experience required \tStrong experience with business and individual tax returns \tComfortable interacting directly with clients \tAbility to work independently with minimal supervision \tStrong organizational and communication skills \tExperience with: \tTax Preparation Software (Ultra Tax or Equivalent) \tWrite up Software: (Accounting CS) \tQuickBooks preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: \tCalm and professional \tIndependent and self-motivated \tTeam-oriented \tDetail-oriented \tComfortable handling client conversations \tAble to manage responsibilities without creating unnecessary stress during busy seasons This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking someone with real tax preparation experience who can confidently contribute from day one.
