The Director of Financial Planning is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing the financial direction of the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this position partners closely with executive and operational leaders to drive sustainable growth, strengthen financial performance, and support operational excellence within a dynamic healthcare environment.
This leader oversees enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis (FP&A), long-range strategic planning, financial modeling, forecasting, and risk management initiatives. Serving as a trusted advisor to the Vice President of Finance, Chief Finance and Administrative Officer (CFAO), and other key stakeholders, the Director of Financial Planning delivers actionable insights that support informed decision-making and organizational success.

Your Impact at HealthPoint
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute multi-year financial strategies that support organizational growth, sustainability, and operational priorities.
- Lead the organization's FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, strategic analysis, and performance reporting.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations related to ROI analysis, cost comparisons, clinical proformas, and other key business initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance leadership to support financial and strategic planning efforts, including implementation of financial systems, policies, and operational processes.
- Facilitate enterprise strategic planning initiatives and align financial targets with long-term organizational goals.
- Direct the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and gap-closure planning.
- Lead monthly financial review meetings with business leaders to evaluate trends, identify risks and opportunities, and inform forecasting decisions.
- Prepare executive-level financial presentations and materials that translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve financial visibility, analytics, reporting capabilities, and operational decision-making.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting activities, including cost reports and Uniform Data System (UDS) submissions, in partnership with Accounting leadership.
- Provide oversight and support for grants administration and reporting to ensure compliance with funding requirements and timely reconciliations.
- Support treasury and balance sheet strategies, including cash planning, debt analysis, and net asset optimization.
- Identify, assess, and monitor enterprise financial risks while supporting broader organizational risk management initiatives.
- Oversee assigned contract, insurance, and procurement-related financial activities to ensure compliance, operational alignment, and risk mitigation.
- Champion process improvement initiatives through financial analytics, automation, and digital tools that enhance planning and reporting capabilities.
- Apply HealthPoint's Lean Management System methodologies to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and drive measurable impact.
- Lead, mentor, and develop FP&A team members through effective coaching, performance management, talent development, and employee engagement.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience within a mid-to-large healthcare organization and at least two (2) years in a non-profit environment.
- Minimum five (5) years leading a financial function and five (5) years in a senior leadership capacity.
- CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, budgeting, and healthcare finance operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex and evolving business challenges.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience translating financial data into actionable business insights.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with budgeting and financial systems. Experience with Oracle preferred.

All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.

If you receive vaccination(s) or lab titers, you may obtain them through HealthPoint at no cost to you.
