Highlights of the job

We're hiring a fulltime temporary (up to 18 months) Manager, Financial Reporting, based in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Energy Services Associate Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis, you'll play a key role within the EPCOR Finance team.

As the Manager, Financial Reporting, you'll lead the financial reporting and analysis function for EPCOR Energy Services. You'll use your expertise to deliver accurate, timely insights that support business decisions and performance targets. You'll guide a team of professionals, champion their development, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Strong communication, active listening, and the ability to give and receive feedback are essential to your success.

As part of our commitment to flexibility, the successful candidate may be eligible for EPCOR's hybrid Where We Work program after 3-6 months, based on eligibility. We welcome applications from internal and external candidates.

What you'd be responsible for

Providing input to Energy Services Finance plans and directions, ensuring an appropriate understanding of the EUI and Energy Services Finance strategy.

Building and maintaining effective relationships with the operations teams in Energy Services and the other finance teams across EPCOR.

Leading, coaching, and developing a highperforming team, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.

Ensuring timely and accurate completion of period-end financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, and external audit requirements through coordination and strong crossfunctional collaboration.

Driving operational efficiency within the accounting function through process improvement and data analysis.

Developing and refining operational processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements while mitigating risk.

Overseeing robust internal controls and ensuring compliance with CSOX.

What's required to be successful

Education and Credentials

Professional accounting designation (such as CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) is required.

A degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is required.

Experience

5+ years of relevant accounting experience.

2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.

Commitment to continuous learning and strengthening both finance and operational knowledge.

Strong understanding of IFRS and the ability to accounting principles in line with EPCOR policies and standards.

Knowledge of the retail electricity sector and the regulatory environment and process in Alberta.

Experience with Oracle financial systems, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, Databricks, and related tools.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
